Ingsoc is here and it's been warmly welcomed.

For now.

It's been more than 20 years since I was hearing "for now", so I guess any time now huh

Terminal, few times a day. Shells, every few minutes.

Reading this I was just thinking I've seen that nick/name somewhere.

Then I noticed several bookmarks with the same name staring at me from the browser sidebar.

Well, there is the problem that a lot of people don't have things they actually want to work on. They don't know how to self actualize and/or don't want to spend brain cycles on things.

Maybe they are immune, but it's just a very small group.

There never was one. I'm from computing science field and it's all been and is normal. Amusing, maybe, but normal. Same as before, but in larger scale, with occasional hype. People picking up useful things and using them. Some going insane.

If I had to pick a surprise, I think the music generation works better than I'd have expected at this point. Only better for funk, but still.

No, every means every. You have a tiny tiny fragment of every protocol that could ever exist or even of the ones that do. And you can't even potentially do many real protocols on an ESP. It's a tiny tiny subset. I'd suggest being honest.

One would hope it's automatic, but no. There may be two or three sets of books you need to fill in many places.
