What are the odds these nonprofits were chosen due to proximity to communities with contentious datacenter buildouts?

these are lovely my guy

I'd love to own SpaceX - what I don't want to own is all the unprofitable, toxic dogshit its ketamine-addled CEO folded into it that has nothing to do with putting stuff into orbit or selling Starlink.

There is indirect exposure to Anthropic/OpenAI through all the incestuous partnerships between hyperscalers and NVDA

Exactly. Google has SpaceX stock.

To make matters worse all the banks, insurers and investment firms in that S&P list are likely in there somewhere too.

I'm sure I'm missing a whole lot more.

Indirect exposure is just a completely different beast than direct exposure. It’s a different level of risk altogether

> It’s a different level of risk altogether

In this case, really? Between Nvidia, Microsoft, AMD, Amazon and everyone else in that S&P 500 there's not >50% of OpenAI already? It's not that indirect.

Microsoft alone is 27%.

Hmm, actually I would be interested to get actual number regarding the exposure to OpenAI and Anthropic in S&Py you might be right, completely possible that I underestimated

True, but that’s tiny relative to these companies going public themselves. Totally different ballgames

lol don’t compare private market pricing where the line only goes up and to the right.

Hilarious how this guy treats the “confession” as some sort of smoking gun rather than the exact same stochastic slot machine that enabled him to score an own-goal on his prod database.

Not to well actually your well actually but they’re all anodized to prevent corrosion and scratches (the oxide layer is harder than the underlying aluminum) - the silver one is just undyed.

And in the pictures you can see a clear color difference between the anodized silver body and the exposed aluminum. It's subtle from a distance, but if you zoom in a bit its pretty obvious

That difference will fade with time.

The pictures were taken months later, so some fading already happened

Well actually, your not well actually to the well actually was actually a well actually of the well actually. Just sayin’.

As much as I detest having to look at ads or being "influenced" in any way, shape or form, I think the opportunities for exploitation with what you just described is potentially orders of magnitude more harmful. Sure, let me just hand my wallet to a stochastic black box with god-knows-what RL'd biases and then hook it up to adversarial data sources all vying to extract the most money from me - what could possibly go wrong?

Okay, now _this_ is the cyberpunk future I asked for.

For the Java bit at least, this aligns with job descriptions I’ve seen and recruiter outreach I’ve received (long time ago though, maybe 5 years).
