maybe it's supposed to be evocative of pheonix from greek mythology - rising from the ashes.

just checked the current firefox logo. i'd say it's neutral with regard to its mood - the eyes in the thunderbird logo set the tone.

Before Firefox was Firefox it was Firebird, and before that, it was Phoenix.


Maybe the bird is angry because thunder sounds kind of like an angry noise.


so it's an angry mail client to begin with
