There's a more likely outcome -- Chrome will simply remove plugin capability if the adblocker install base gets too large.
Mobile Chrome already doesn't allow plugins, and this is definitely a huge part of the reason why.

do that, but at the same time would likely lose a lot of users to Firefox the very same day.
